(CITY) City of Montgomery – Municipal Court – Magistrate

The mission of the Municipal Court is to provide the best quality service to citizens of Montgomery, attorneys and other agencies. ONE PLACE Family Justice Center has an onsite Magistrate to promptly handle all criminal matters.

(DA) Montgomery County District Attorney's Office - Family Violence Unit

A division of the Family Violence Unit, the Violence Against Women Unit was formed to reduce violence occurring in Montgomery homes, to make victims safer, and to hold criminals accountable for their behavior. The unit prosecutes domestic violence and sexual assault crimes against adult persons ages sixteen and over.

Child & Elder Abuse

The second division of the Family Violence Units is comprised of a special prosecutor assigned the responsibility of reviewing cases and prosecuting those who violate laws against children (under age 16) and those against the elderly.

(MPD) Montgomery Police Department – Domestic Violence Bureau

The Bureau provides comprehensive services to victims of crime in a qualified relationship. Services range from safety planning, order of protection assistance, stalking case analysis, research, investigation, preparation and/or prosecution.

(JSL) Thomas Goode Jones School of Law – Family Violence Clinic

In the Family Violence Clinic, students represent clients who are victims of domestic violence. Students provide advice and counsel to clients seeking to escape violent relationships and to protect children exposed to violence and coercion. Students represent clients in Circuit Court in Autauga, Elmore and Montgomery counties in seeking protection from abuse orders and help them build peaceful, safe lives. We work to empower clients to reclaim their inherent dignity and independence.
